10
people joined the Explore Midwest Scuba team as we headed
just 45 minutes past Mermet to the great state of Kentucky.
Dive
Cerulean, like many midwestern dive sites, is a flooded
quarry. Cerulean boasts unusually good visibility for a
shallow quarry thanks to its pool filtration system. As
an added bonus of the system, the quarry does not have a
thermocline and usually warms faster than most in the area.
Underwater
features are similar to other quarries, old boats and a
car or two, but for some reason Cerulean has perhaps the
largest collection of underwater lawnmowers in the world.
Cerulean also has a nice long compass course.
