Midwest Scuba and Scuba Shop USA would like to extend a big thank you to everyone that participated in the 3rd Annual Underwater Treasure Hunt, Saturday, July 24 at Rolla. What an adventure it was! A total of 74 divers arrived to search for treasure.

The day started out gray and chilly (what a contrast to the 100+ degree temps of last year!) and by lunch the rain started coming down! The surface temp was a balmy 82 degrees and fog rolled off the quarry making everything look surreal. It felt more like an October Pumpkin Carving day than an end of July Treasure Hunt!

People huddled under EZ Ups and by the fire (!!) and lunch was served in one of the few dry moments of the day (sort of). Everyone was upbeat and enjoyed themselves despite the downpour.

Heck, we are all there to get wet anyway! In fact, many people stayed in their wetsuits and IN the water to stay warm! Unfortunately at about 1:30 p.m., a huge crack of lightening and thunder prompted us to recall all divers and we drew for prizes under the narrow trailer porch.

And, a hearty congrat's goes to Buddy McEachern who won the Blackbeard's Bahamas Cruise raffle for two! He'll be enjoying a week in the Bahamas over the winter! Way to go, Buddy!!

In total, the day raised $2,200 for the Boys' and Girls' Club's Aquatic Center. Thank you, everyone, for making the day a success in spite of the weather!! We hope you'll join us again - rain OR shine-- next year!
